Project Description:
COVID-19 forced public parks, including public beach access, to close for four weeks in April 2020. Fedcology was tasked with monitoring the impact to marine life by the absence of visitors in the designated project area. Observers were specifically required to identify bottle-nosed dolphin (Tursiops truncatus), Blacknose Shark (Carcharhinus acronotus), blacktip shark (Carcharhinus limbatus), and Manatees (Trichechus). Deliverables included:
- Completed Service Site and Observation Logs.
- A letter report summarizing the work accomplished.
- GIS data for site boundaries.
- Digital photographs and photo logs.
- Field notes including field methods.
- Letter with findings and impact to elected Miami Beach conservation officials.
